Abstract

|
Drug injection is an effective way to introduce drugs into a patient body. However, improper injection of drugs can be fatal to patients. Usually, drugs are injected manually by hand and thus, a mistake can occur during the injection. In this study, we developed a low-cost, portable syringe pump to minimize human errors during drug injection. The developed pump can be used with a conventional 3 cc syringe, and a motor and a microprocessor are embedded to activate the syringe. Experiments using a precise weighing balance were conducted in our lab. and Korea Testing & Research Institute to verify the performance of the developed pump.
